Whenever the subject of scuba diving and photography comes up people always ask if I do underwater photography. Interestingly enough, I don't. Why "interestingly'? Well, I'm a professional photographer and a scuba diving instructor. Diving has been a big part of my life for a long time but it isn't anymore. Photography is. People photography to be exact.
Read MoreWell, I got Fuji X100T here in Perth (Camera Electronics) a few months after if was released. What made me buy it? It's small, silent, highly customizable, capable, provides great colours and just works. I wanted a camera that does not attract attention. My DSLRs are big and heavy, I got tired of lugging one around.

Read MoreSome time ago I've photographed the wedding of Leila's sister, Kara. I'll be Leila's photographer too when her big day comes. It looks like there is a lot of trust in me in Di Toro family :)
Leila and Conor have known each-other since they were 12 years old. They started dating when they were 16, and the day when they get married will be their 10th anniversary together.
Read MoreAs always, the most important thing for me are the photographs. I don't care about the weather, settings, lenses. These are just the tools to create exciting and beautiful images, catch great moments and make people happy.
Sometimes it feels a little like a game. Jumping over fences, climbing tables and trees. Just because I've got a feeling there might be a great photo somewhere over there.
I've been busy with work recently - weddings, outdoor family sessions, studio portrait sessions, studio families, babies, maternity, large group family shoots ( I had to pose 17 people for this one :) etc ...
Read MoreI don't know if I'm lucky or I just attract the right people but this was another really cool and happy wedding. Happy is the right word here - Arna could not stop smiling and laughing during the ceremony but I'm getting ahead of myself here.
Read MoreSmall wedding, big images - this is how I feel about the wedding of Kasia and Adam. They tied the knot at the Perth Registry Office with close friends as their witnesses.
Their families were in front of a computer on the other side of the world, as they could not be present in person. Ceremony was very fun, they could not stop laughing.

Read MoreChinese weddings can be very big affairs: there are lots of customs to follow, lots of relatives and family members to consider. Ethan and Rachel wanted to also have an Australian wedding, more relaxed, fun and definitely with the ocean view. I offered a suggestions and they decided to have their ceremony on the deck in front of Kidogo Art House, wedding photos in Fremantle and reception in Kidogo. This was a very good plan :)
Read MoreOllie and Jono got married in the British Consulate and it was one of the first same sex marriages not only in Perth but also in WA. The setting was a bit different from your usual wedding venue - there were ID checks, a few cameras, cavalry sabre in the corner and portrait of The Queen on the wall. Atmosphere was different too, it felt like history was being made, everyone knew something special was happening.
Read MoreThis is something I've started doing in my free time. I do like close ups of faces, they are like covers of books, telling you what you might find inside.
Read MoreWhy? It's quite simple actually. Great location, amazing view, friendly atmosphere and delicious food - I've been there and experienced all of it.
Wedding venue in Perth for me should be either on the water or in the hills. Anything else is just a compromise.
Read MoreCottesloe on a cloudy morning, it was the colour that attracted me first, the lone swimmer just complemented it.
Read MoreDevelopers made their move and another building in Fremantle is about to bite the dust. Someone started a fire inside and I just happened to be around when the fire trucks arrived. I walked around and discovered a gap in the fence at the back and the door wide open. I've taken more pictures, but this one is my favourite.
Read MoreI was making something a bit different for Simin, whose wedding I photographed recently and I started to think about the whole idea of the first dance.
I'm nearly 99% sure the first thing any men thinks about when he hears the words "First Dance" spoken for the first time is: "I will look like a complete idiot". Because we all, deep down, feel we should be chucking spears at animals not prancing around to music.
Read MoreCrazy and wonderful Africa... My biggest regret about Zanzibar is not exploring it enough. I wish I had my current camera and the skills back then - not very useful thoughts but true.
Read MoreThere is a reason I use images not words to tell stories but I'll give it a go. Love like theirs is possible only in a few places in the world - love that breaks boundaries to create something new.
