Perth Elopement & Micro and Small Wedding Photography FAQ

Q: How far in advance should we book, especially for a small wedding or elopement?

A: Honestly, it depends on the season! Saturday dates during our prime WA seasons (Spring, Autumn) can book out 12 to 18 months ahead. However, because you're choosing a Small Wedding or Elopement, I have more flexibility with mid-week dates or Sundays, which are often available sooner. The best rule of thumb? If you have your date locked in, send me a message immediately to see if your date is still open.

Q: If we want to elope, how quickly can we actually get married in Australia?

A: The fastest answer is one calendar month from today.

This is governed by Australian law and the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form. This form must be lodged with your registered marriage celebrant at least one month (but no more than 18 months) before your ceremony date.

The Key Takeaway: The legal minimum for your actual ceremony is tied to your celebrant, not your photographer. However, because my most popular elopement dates often book up a year in advance, I still recommend booking me as soon as you hire your celebrant to ensure I'm available for your chosen date!

Q: What about witnesses?

A: As for witnesses, you need two people over 18 to sign the certificate. If you are having a truly intimate Elopement with no guests, don't stress! I have served as a legal witness for a few of my couples. I am happy to sign the certificate alongside your celebrant or other vendor. Just let your celebrant know that I will be available to act as one of your witnesses!

Q:We are awkward in front of the camera. Will our photos still look natural?

A: That's the most common worry, and it's absolutely nothing to stress about! My entire job is to make sure you forget the camera is there. I don't do stiff, traditional poses. Instead, we'll walk, we'll talk, and I'll give you small, simple prompts (like "whisper your favourite memory of them") while capturing the candid moments in between. I always joke with my couples to get real laughter —those are the photos that feel 100% like you! The process feel natural and organic.

Q: Can you help us plan our timeline and suggest unique Perth/WA locations?

A: Yes, that's one of my favourite parts! After photographing 300+ weddings, I bring more than just a camera. Every booking includes a consultation where we build a stress-free, practical timeline together. I’ll share my best insider knowledge on unique Perth locations—from the stunning Rottnest Salt Flats to the dramatic light at Rocky Bay—and we'll choose the perfect spot that genuinely fits your vibe.

Q: Do you charge extra for travel to popular WA locations like Margaret River, Swan Valley, or Rottnest?

A: My pricing is transparent and simple! All travel within 1 hour drive of the Perth CBD is complimentary. For stunning locations outside that radius (like Margaret River, Denmark, or the extended South West), I charge a simple, travel fee to cover my time, accommodation, and fuel. For Rottnest Island, a specific fee covers the ferry and logistics. I will outline all travel fees clearly in your quote before you book.

Q: How many photos can we expect, and how long until we receive them?

A: You can expect plenty of beautiful photos! I don't promise a fixed minimum or maximum amount of images because the final count is completely dependent on your day and how much amazing stuff is happening. However, to give you an idea of my coverage, I typically deliver on average 75+ final, edited images for every hour of shooting. This high-quality coverage means a full 8-hour collection usually results in well over 700 stunning images. I send out a sneak peek within a week of your wedding. Your final, full gallery will be delivered digitally and hosted online for 18 months, typically 6-8 weeks after your wedding date.

Q: We really love your style, but we're planning a much larger wedding (100+ guests). Can you still shoot it?

A: So, you're planning something big and amazing! I'd absolutely still love to hear about your plans.

While my packages are focused on Micro and Small Weddings, my candid, documentary style works beautifully for any size event. I know because I have done it in the past :)

If your guest list is over 100, we will simply need to build a custom collection that includes extended coverage and a an another wedding pro -a second photographer to ensure we capture every important moment.

The Takeaway: Your unique story is what matters. Reach out and tell me your vision, and we can discuss a custom quote to cover your full-scale celebration without missing any of the beautiful candid moments you love.

Q: We are a super private couple and do not want any of our photos shared online or on social media. Is that a problem?

A: Absolutely not a problem. Your privacy and comfort are always my top priority.

I have photographed many highly private couples who, due to work or personal philosophy, choose not to share their moments online. This is your story, not my content.

We can easily incorporate a non-sharing clause right into your contract to give you complete peace of mind. Your stunning images will belong only to you, and I will respect your decision to keep your celebration completely private.
